Join WYES, WWNO and the New Orleans Association of Black Journalists for a FREE screening and panel discussion on Saturday, November 5 at 11am at WYES Paulette and Frank Stewart Innovation Center for Educational Media, 916 Navarre Avenue. View excerpts from the PBS series MAKING BLACK AMERICA: THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE from host and executive producer Henry Louis Gates Jr. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring local journalists' thoughts on the history of of newspaper, television and other outlets in the times of limited opportunity in New Orleans media. Hear about their journey and contributions to the early years and thoughts on what the media looks like today. Free parking & refreshments provided. Though the event is FREE, you must still register to attend. Moderator is award-winning journalist, producer, and evening news anchor for WWL-TV Charisse Gibson.
