Have you ever wished to warm the heads of loved ones (yes, including yourself), but in a stylish way? This just might be the workshop for you -- In this 2-part series, we will learn how to knit beanies & plan to finish one by the end!
We'll provide circular needles & yarn, and perhaps you'll provide the commitment and attention to detail. This class has two weeks between to give you time to knit most of your hat at home, since you'll learn those skills during the first class (yes... Be prepared for homework: based on your speed, expect to work on it for about 8-10 hours, give or take, at home between the two sessions). The second class will include how to reduce your stitches over time, to give the top of the hat a perfect taper, and cinch it closed to finalize it.
Skills include casting on, knit & purl stitches, reducing, & casting off.

Meet the Instructor, Katie Butterfield. "Butters" joined the TMC crew soon after the Almeda fire, as part of the team who facilitated bed-frame building workshops for folks who were displaced by the fire. They have mostly worked for non-profits in an outdoor setting (teaching and coordinating) since 2005, while working on side projects in natural building & wood-work whenever they get the chance. Any kind of making is of interest to them whether it's wood-working, music, comedy, or drawing; Butters describes themself as a 'Master of None,' & likes it that way.
