Dashiki In The City in collaboration with the Tampa Bay Afrofuturism Festival invites you to to attend our Black Panther II Viewing Soirée as we prepare to return to Wakandaland and embark on a new journey of grief, war and triumph.The Black Panther series began chronicling the highs and lows of T’Challa’s ascension to the throne, with the powerful Dora Milaje and a host of our favorite Wakandans by his side. But with the untimely passing of the beloved Chadwick Boseman, the series has shifted drastically arrange the film’s storyline to reflect the transition of King T’Challa as well.Now, the Kingdom of Wakanda must protect it’s people from new enemies and prepare to crown a new leader- a new Black Panther. This film screening will celebrate how Black Panther has transcended the screen and served as a cultural beacon within Black cultures of the Diaspora for it’s vibrant representations of Afrofuturism, African Spirituality, Black representation in STEM, Blerd culture and comic book fandoms world wide. THE EVENT Happy Hour | 6-7 PM Enjoy a diverse bar featuring beverages crafted by Black owned companies, coupled with a delectable menus of soul food inspired hors d'oeuvres, baked treats and other lite fare. Take this time to network, mingle and shop our Wakanda Bazaar which will be comprised of local BIPOC shops. Movie Time | 7:00 PM THE AFTER PARTY Following the film there will be an after party at Urban Drinkery and all attendees are welcome! *Ticket includes bar, dinner and film viewing access. *Seating is first come first served so you are urged to arrive on time. *Parking maps will be posted to the Facebook event page.
