Description
george is a 20-something [20-24 yrs] female red eared slider. she's full grown and is quite a chunky girl, she loves her food and occasional goldfish snack. i've had her for over a year and it's been a long process, when i got her, she had shell rot over the entirety of her shell.
after treating her for the entirety of this time, the vet cleared her as healthy and thinks that the remaining patch of missing scales will grow back over over time, so she's cleared to find her forever home. please note that turtles are messy, smelly little [big] dudes! they're a LOT of work and they're not for you to just sit and look at. you need a minimum of a 75 gallon tank and quality filtration, a high quality UVB bulb and heat lamp.
i don't know how george would do with other turtles because she's lived alone her entire life, but she's surprisingly very docile for a turtle and will paddle after you like a dog in her tank for attention. she's very cute!
if the ad is up, she's still available. i'm asking $40 for a rehoming fee; she can come with her heat bulb, huge container of fresh food, turtle dock and her UVB bulb, but you'll have to have your own tank and/or pond. please reach out if you're interested, and include information about your tank set up [size, gravel-free, etc]. i'd love to keep her but i'm downsizing to make space for some critical need reptiles that need rehabbing.
thank you!
