Rehoming young, big dog

Description

Back in June, we rescued this sweet boy who had been dumped with severe pressure wounds and intact. He was horribly malnourished and filthy. I paid out of pocket to have him neutered, updated on vaccines and chipped. He had an adopter lined up but the adoption fell through and he is now looking for his forever home. Some things about Beau: he is guesstimated to be around 16 months old. He is mixed primarily with German Shepard and Neopolitan Mastiff with a few other breeds in very small percentages. He will continue to grow and is estimated that he will be around 125 pounds when fully grown, he is currently 90 pounds. He has been around cats and tiny dogs. He has grown close to our pack but was not a fan of meeting new bigger dogs. He is very strong, and needs someone who has the time to spend with him every day and is able to train him appropriately. A home where he is the only dog or has a smaller female dog as a companion is the best fit for his personality. He prefers the company of humans to other dogs and is happiest when snuggling his human. He is not a dog you can leave alone while you work an 8 hour day. He walks on a leash but needs additional training to continue building on leash ettiquette. We have invested time and money into Beau and I will be doing a home check, since the right home for him is more important to me than collecting an adoption/rehoming fee. If you have questions that haven’t been addressed here please feel free to email me. Thank you in advance for your help and have a great day!
