Handyman Wanted, Immediate Start I am a CPA, real estate investor and operator, and real estate broker/agent offering an opportunity for consistent work without having to spending a lot of time bid jobs or handling admin work. I am looking for independent contractor home maintenance/repairs/renovations technician to help me with routine repairs and renovations. Pay is by the job but we try to approximate $30-40/hr based on how long we think the job should take. I am a licensed contractor and have been doing handyman work on the side for a over a decade and was a full time handyman for 3 years so I have a pretty good idea of how long things should take. Expectations: - Availability, Consistent effort - Professional communication - The ability to Complete home repairs - Ability to use your resources (repair manuals, the internet, youtube, etc.) to resolve questions - Willingness to communicate and ask questions with regard to design decisions - Focus on the work and leave the ego at home Requirements: - Reliable transportation - Reliable and fast internet - Self Motivated and drive to succeed - Able to work in a fast paced environment - Able to accept constructive criticism as a positive - Track record of success in home repairs What Availability/Consistent effort means to us: Aside from designated time each week, say Mondays or Fridays set aside to quote jobs, you finish projects you have agreed upon to complete for us before quoting other work or taking on other work. You prioritize our repairs, with the exception of set time each week to schedule other work. You complete projects you've agreed to complete for us before starting other projects. What Professional Communication means to us: You communicate clearly and unambiguously. You provide notification when you are on the job site and daily update on any project started until completion. Note: Threats to do damage to the property or "reclaim the work" over what should be minor disagreements that can easily be talked out will not tolerated. If a material is affixed to the property, it is a fixture of the property, removing to "reclaim the work" is vandalism, and possibly larceny, a crime punishable by fines or prison or both. If anyone we hire threatens us or acts in the way, we will press charges. All disagreements can be sorted out through discussion to come to a reasonable agreement. We always pay what is due. Our timing of payment policy is below. Timing of Pay: - Timing of pay is non-negotiable. Anyone we hire will be paid after the work is complete in a satisfactory workmanlike fashion to the scope we agreed upon before work commenced, and after we can verify that the work has been completed to that standard, usually within 1 week of the work being completed. It has never taken us more than 2 weeks to confirm the work has been completed. Working capital: - If you are doing handyman work and need to be paid same day to be able to afford gas, or your basic bills, we are not a good fit. We are looking to hire only those who are financial stable and have a monetary cushion, aka working capital, so that a few day delay in payment for business reasons doesn't turn into a crisis. If you are serious, like consistency in your pipeline of projects, but can be adaptable based on the customer's needs, in order to earn the business of reoccurring customer that you never have to worry about paying as long as the work is good, you will love working with us.
