Description
The Meadowview Family Festival is a no-cost family event designed to celebrate diversity, promote health, and activate the 24th Street Bypass Park. Bring your family, your friends, and your bike to enjoy family-friendly fun including bike activities, multicultural performances, music, food, and several pre-event activities. See the full list of activities below! Volunteers can sign-up, here. If you would like to host a booth/table, please sign-up here. Pre-event Activities:Tree planting by Sacramento Tree Foundation. Community Bike Ride with Active Transportation Commissioner Ron Brasel Date: Nov. 5, 2022Registration: 9:00 AM Ride Start Time: 9:30 AM Start Location: Starbucks (1441 Meadowview Rd, Sacramento, CA 95832 in the Home Depot shopping center). Enjoy a free coffee, ice coffee, or hot chocolate from Starbucks between 9-9:30 am for participating in the social ride! Just wear a bike helmet while ordering. The Social ride will go by the planned South Sacramento Parkway Trail West project and will end at 24th street bypass park just as festivities are kicking off. In 2019, ULI Sacramento formed the Task Force for Health and Social Equity to address the health and disparity issues in South Sacramento and Meadowview community. As part of this work, The ULI Sacramento Task Force for Health and Social Equity has been focused on empowering the residents of Meadowview to engage in neighborhood decisions that promote community health and opportunity for all. All this work has culminated in a community-led site activation at 24th Street Bypass Park designed to support community members in activating public spaces that will celebrate diversity, honor justice and social equity, and improve health outcomes.
