HOBOKEN, NJ — After a group of protestors invaded the U.S. Capitol building on Wednesday afternoon, hoping to stop the Senate's confirming of the electoral vote count for the presidential election, both Democrats and Republicans in New Jersey reacted with criticism. One stinging reaction came from Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla, who has been critical of President Donald Trump before. Bhalla wrote on Wednesday: Sickening & disgraceful what is happening at the Capitol right now. This is open sedition and people should be held accountable, starting with @realDonaldTrump— Ravinder S. Bhalla (@RaviBhalla) January 6, 2021 U.S. Rep. Albio Sires said Wednesday, "If this was happening in any other country we would be calling it a coup attempt."
