“Each chapel will showcase what is unique and historic, with personal family stories, photographs and touching letters that show that the chapels were the center of our community,” Commissioner Edna Guntert said.
“Hear the restoration story of the old Germantown Baptist Church from the contractor and past mayor of Germantown Charles Salvaggio,” she continued. “Find out the history of the Germantown Methodist Church, its beautiful stained glass windows and its history with the Civil War. At the Presbyterian Chapel we will enjoy the story of Reverend R.R. Evans, long-time pastor and humanitarian from an actor in period costume.”
Each chapel will host presentations covering topics such as their roles during World War II, the Civil War and Yellow Fever. Attendees will also learn about their restorations, their stunning stained glass and other historical tidbits.
