Traffic Increases

Description
Citizens, Our smaller community is growing, which is increasing the number of automobiles out on our roads. This means "we" must also increase and grow in our "big boy pants" driving skills. Please: 1. Be aware of what's going on "around" you and this means, specifically - when you're approaching a red light at an intersection and there is a line of cars, and you are the one blocking the cross street, then please STOP "before" the cross street- leaving a space for vehicles that wish to use it and turn-in, while you and I are waiting for the light to change. (This kees traffic flow moving and is also, just plain courteous with no sacrifice by you or me.) 2. If you're trying to turn left, out 'onto' a busy, four-lane street like Minnesota Ave, and "both" lanes going to and fro (meaning, N and S) are busy- then either, A. get out past the one to or fro and into the median (after ensuring the coast is clear of course.) And then, simply pause, turn-on your blinker and wait for a space when you can gracefully merge in with the flow of traffic. If you cannot (or will not) do this, then please, for the sake of us who will, just turn right and go down the block, which is going to take you far less time anyway - as well as for those waiting behind you. (Also, "aware" and "courteous.") 3. Lastly, when using the "on-ramp" to get onto the interstate... YOU have the "Yield and Merge" sign, NOT the person coming down the way cruising at 65 mph. The on-ramp is intended for YOU to gather up the speed you need to either, A. safely merge into the flow of traffic (meaning, you're going the same approximate speed) or B. for YOU to yield to oncoming traffic until it's safe for you to enter. It is not our responsibility to "brake" on the interstate for you! (See "Aware, courteous, and now also, "SAFE.") These are easy and logical driving reminders for all of us folks - whether we are living in, or coming to Sioux Falls- "the big city." It's getting there, so please, let's all start driving like it by being COURTEOUS, AWARE and SAFE to and for one another. Stop looking at your cell phone and look up to see what's going on around you and put on your Big-Boy Driving Pants. LASTLY: 4. This is the "bonus" suggestion but only for the morons who believe they are so much more important that they have to exceed the speed limit in order to get that "one extra car length" closer to the Pole Position, at the expense and safety of everyone else who may be in their way or vicinity. (You're not getting anywhere any faster and we all laugh at you, as we see you right at the next red light up the way.) It's just that we now know exactly what a moron looks like up close. Get a grip and see the "COURTEOUS" and "AWARE" points up above please. (Thanks to all.)
