Are you a skilled guitarist and love INXS, REM, Bowie, The Cars, Psych Furs, Squeeze, Tears for Fears, The Cure, The Clash, Talking Heads, and other similar 80’s music? Radio 80, an established 80's rock cover band, wants to meet you! Our style is radio-friendly, familiar 80's rock (with some forgotten gems thrown in) - NOT pop, dance, or hair-metal. We are currently composed of a lead singer/rhythm guitarist, bassist, keyboardist, and drummer. Our band is ego-free and has a good-natured camaraderie. We are accomplished musicians with a goal to make good music together and play a few gigs during the year. Rehearsals are generally twice monthly at a Lower Bucks County studio – located near major highways. As for performing, we aim to establish ourselves as a band for private parties and events, 80's theme nights, area festivals, etc. (Bar gigs are not generally our thing). We divide efforts to promote the band democratically and by individual strengths. This is a fair-minded project that seeks the right guitarist to join in on the fun. WE WANT TO MEET YOU IF YOU ARE: - An easy-going, proficient guitarist who knows the MTV-era 80’s rock styles. - Able to learn songs quickly and come to rehearsal ready to play together. - Able to carry a tune -- harmony vocals are a plus. - Personable with good energy and a flexible schedule for semi-regular practices. - Focused on the overall entity to make us sound as accurate as possible to that era, without trying to replicate exact studio recordings.
