We would like to invite representatives from youth-serving organizations in Jefferson County to attend this summit with the goal of creating a county-wide work plan focused on youth engagement to help reduce youth substance use and improve social health by feeling engaged, connected, valued and seen as leaders. New 2022 youth survey results indicate that many Jefferson County youth are in crisis: 1 in 3 students felt depressed or sad most days1 in 6 students seriously considered suicide1 in 7 students have made plans about how to commit suicide1 in 9 students have attempted suicide between 1 and 6 or more times.
