Suicide is a difficult topic to speak about and this training address those barriers along with working to break down the stigma around speaking about mental illness, suicide, and seeking out help.
Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis then how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help.
The training will be taught by Sara Kleber-Lowery. She has been a certified QPR instructor since 2018 and trained hundreds in QPR. She is the System of Care Coordinator for Lawrence County. In her role as a Wraparound Facilitator she partners with families and has over 8 years of experience working in youth mental health.
