This week's presenter: Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small BusinessesGoldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses is an educational program for small business owners across the state to accelerate the growth of their business. More than 200 Iowa business owners have taken advantage of this no-cost program to grow their business, increase revenue, and create jobs for their community. During this conversation, we will be joined by four Cedar Rapids area business owners that have used this program to position their businesses for growth. Josh McNary of McNary Marketing & Design, Sydney Rieckhoff of Almost Famous Popcorn Company, Amy Heinen of Quick Action Accounting, and Wahneta Dimmer of Hands in Harmony, will introduce their business and share their experiences. Each business owner will also discuss their tips and techniques for the evaluation of growth opportunities, forecasting for strategic decision making, as well as transitioning from tactical work in the business to strategic work on the business. About 1 Million Cups Cedar Rapids 1 Million Cups Cedar Rapids is a free, weekly program that happens nationwide designed to educate, engage, and connect entrepreneurs. Developed by the Kauffman Foundation, 1MC is based on the notion that entrepreneurs discover solutions and network over a million cups of coffee. Early-stage businesses and established companies facing interesting challenges are welcome to present their companies to a panel of experts for advice, and engage the audience in a question-and-answer session to encourage collaborative and honest conversations. We also feature expert speakers, founder fireside interviews, and exploration of business failures and the shared learning that comes from those failures. 1 Million Cups Cedar Rapids is led by a group of passionate volunteers: Jourdan McChesney (NewBoCo)Eric Engelmann (Iowa Startup Accelerator)Laura Gansemer (Office Evolution)Rina Jensen (Rina Jensen.com)Julie Lammers (America's SBDC)Emily Bettridge (Matthew25)Jessica Abdoney (NewBoCo)Jennifer Murphy (BerganKDV)Pablo Estrada (Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust)Cat Cantrill (The Agency)Sponsors1MCCR is sponsored by local companies and organizations that support our entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem:
