Jobs for Montana's Graduates (JMG) welcomes you to LEAD Montana 2022! JMG students from high schools and middle schools across Montana will be attending a one-day leadership conference. Students will have an opportunity to interact and share ideas with each other while connecting with peers from other JMG schools all over the state. They will get a chance to learn, practice, and exhibit social/networking skills while understanding the importance of a good introduction through GNAP (Greeting, Name, Association, and Purpose). You may excuse yourself after lunch/discussions, or after the student keynote address. COVID-19 Advisory:In accordance with the Governor’s Stage Two plan “Return to Worksites” for state government, we will hold our event in accordance with Lewis & Clark County Public Health Department ordinances. Currently, there are no restrictions or requirements in place. However, we will continue to observe developments and changes by county health and make adjustments in the protocol as required. While not mandatory, we support our guests, students, and teachers to wear masks during the event. We will not have the ability to keep attendees socially distant/spaced during the event. If you have a concern about attending and wish to decline, we understand and we hope to invite you to our next scheduled event in Helena on April 2023. Student Agenda (Table Captains are welcome to attend)8:30 - 9:00 am / Opening session with Mike Jetty, Indian Education for All9:00- 11:45 am / LEAD Montana Workshop with Coach Sherry Winn11:45 am - 1:30 pm / Luncheon, Student Keynote, Awards (May may excuse yourself after lunch/discussions, or after the student keynote address)As a Table Captain:You will have the opportunity to meet and speak with students and career specialists (teachers) seated at your table during the luncheon. A few things to be mindful of as a Table Captain:Ask open-ended questions.Some students might be a little shy; so be diligent, engaging, and patient. Your interactions will truly help them build the necessary professional social skills they will need as a young adult. Some conversation points/tips:Introduce yourself, industry, and profession to students.Ask students to introduce themselves.Ask students about what they learned or about their favorite activity during the conference.Ask students about what jobs they might be doing now and how JMG helped them.Ask students about what job or career they are most interested in.FAQs Is there a dress code for Table Captains? No need to dress up! Come to the luncheon as you normally prepare/dress for a day at work! What time should I arrive for the luncheon? 11:15 A.M. please. We will start promptly at 11:30 A.M. What about parking at the event? The hotel parking lot will have ample spaces at no extra charge. Where should I go once I get there? Please go to the conference/ballroom area of the hotel, then go to the check-in table and introduce yourself! Is there something I can do while I'm waiting? Yes. You are welcome to observe or join the students in the workshop hall. Find your seat at the table settle in and mingle with other Table Captains. Be at your assigned table at 11:30 am for the JMG Model Update hosted by the JMG State Director and may include a career specialist (teacher) or a student. Will food be served at this event? Yes. We will have a plated lunch & beverages available. Service times: Plated Lunch (11:45 AM-12:45 PM)
