Laugh, learn, and get inspired by a mix of people from Providence as they share their ideas, stories, and creations using the PechaKucha format of 20 images that last 20 seconds each. Named best event in Rhode Island by RI Monthly! This Month's Theme: Into The VoidInspired by all things spooky and the looming feeling that some people get on the edge of winter, this year we're calling into the void and seeing what calls back. What spooky weirdness have you encountered into the world?What voids in the community are you helping to fill?What beauty has come from the darkness?Doors open at 7:20pm and presentations kick off at 8:20pm. Parking: Parking is available in the Farm Fresh parking lot. Seating: Our friends at Farm Fresh have plenty of seating for you. Food and Beverages: Providence Brewing Company will have the taps running and food options available. Restrooms: Restrooms are available in the building. Covid Stuff: We're indoors for this one. It's a large venue so you'll have plenty of room to keep a comfortable distance. As always, be smart and safe. If you're not feeling well, sit this one out, there's always next month. What is PechaKucha?If you haven't heard of this global yet unpronounceable phenomenon, PechaKucha is a monthly format for sharing ideas in which presenters are allotted 20 slides and 20 seconds per slide. Simply put: it's 6 minutes and 40 seconds of show and tell for grown-ups. It began in Tokyo in 2003, has since spread to over 1,200 cities worldwide, and first landed in Providence in March of 2009. To the best of our knowledge, Providence is the only chapter in the entire world that hosts a PechaKucha Night every month of the year.
