The River Series is a fundraiser for the Maria Montessori School. We host shows at our on-campus amphitheater every spring and fall, bringing an eclectic mix of local and touring acts together for performances at a truly special place in Downtown Memphis. This fall series is sponsored by Wiseacre Brewing, Downtown Memphis Commission, WYXR, Tom Martin Design and NIXODNAIRB and produced by Zac Ives from Goner Records. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids in advance at riverseries.org. If space is available, tickets will also be available at the door the day of the show. All proceeds go to support the Maria Montessori School. Doors open at 2pm, DJ Mike Brown will play records before and after sets at 3:00pm (The Turnstyles) and 4:00pm (Alicja-Pop).
Alicja-Pop
Alicja-Pop is the newest vehicle for Memphis indie veteran Alicja Trout (Lost Sounds, The Clears, Sweet Knives), who’s 2021 album Howlin’ has received rave reviews from the likes of Henry Rollins, who said “Howlin’ is not only a great collection of songs, but balances her considerable skills excellently. It’s a very cool record.”
