Description
Gorgeous, rambunctious 5-year-old border collie/blue heeler - "Spotty" - seeks breed-savvy partner to rehabilitate and rehome him, give him room to roam. We adopted him as a puppy, foolishly - I know that now. We can't give him the room he needs to run or the partnership he needs to thrive. Breed-savvy, rescue-minded folks ONLY. I will run this ad for months if I have to, to find the right home for our Spotty. We love him, but he's just not happy here. We have tried everything - trainers, time, tears. MUST go to someone who will not use any form of corporal punishment or verbal abuse to train this dog (unfortunately, we fear one of our trainers did). Loves but fears car rides. No small children; listens better to females. Integrated him into our homeschool/day-tripping life - but he's just not happy here. Text for interest, I will not even respond to scammy-sounding texts, so don't bother. This is a rehabilitation/rescue situation; please do not be taken in by his beauty and underestimate this. We feed him Acana dry and Northwest Naturals raw twice daily - only good, organic food for this boy. Neutered, shots, Amazia is his vet. Loves belly rubs; knows sit, stay, come, lie down, take, gentle take, ask. Loves chew toys - must be tough, or he'll destroy it in.5 seconds. Won't let anyone brush his teeth or clip his nails; doesn't like paws, behind touched. Respects our elderly cat, likes smaller dogs; lives with goats, chickens and a bunny, too. Always been kind to rescue fosters over the years. Sings to the 12 o'clock lunch bells in Camas ("Woo-woo-woo!"). Not a mean dog, but can be fearful. Definitely food-based, but resource guarding has mellowed considerably. We've been a long time coming to this point... you can probably see we love him, but we want the best for him, and we're not that.
