Description

The Yard Equipment Operator is needed to operate equipment/machinery and duties involving physical labor on heavy precast projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE: · Operate and drive yard mixer, yard equipment including fork lift trucks. · Performing manual work in preparing surfaces. · Maintain a clean job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards. · Material handling and storage, including cutting pieces. · Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials using various hand and powered lifting machines. Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy precast projects; perform manual work in preparing surfaces. · Place cables and steel into precast forms. · Place concrete into precast forms. · Leveling the top of the concrete using a flat tool and straightedge. · Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards. · Material handling and storage, including cutting pieces. · Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials using various hand and powered lifting machines. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Experience with forklift operations, yard tractors and/or concrete self-propelled saws preferred. (no CDL Required) Some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in construction work. Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule. Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor. Ability to communicate orally. Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely. Ability to understand, follow and transmit oral instructions. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
