We are looking for an experienced CNC Operator/Fabricator to join our team in Orange, CA. Our client been experiencing rapid growth over the past year and we’re expanding our fabrication team. We are seeking an experienced and skilled CNC Operator/Fabricator to work on a wide range of projects from custom sculptural elements and interactive exhibits/experiences to modular systems for global corporate clients. ***This is not a standard machine shop or in aerospace. Required Qualifications: Proven experience with hands-on programing and operation of digital fabrication/CNC/Laser Etching/Laser Cutting/3d Printing equipment Proven experience fabricating with a variety of materials Proven experience operating a variety of machine and hand tools Experience working in a fast-paced shop environment Ability to engineer solutions at the bench for complex fabrication projects CNC Operator/ Fabricator Duties and Responsibilities Use and Maintenance of CNC Router, Laser Cutter, Laser Engraver, and 3D printer Select tooling, tool paths, feeds and speeds, loading, running programs, loading materials and unloading parts. Collaborate with the creative and design engineering teams, fabrication teams and management teams to craft a wide range of custom projects and build prototypes that will fulfill our design needs. Create small and large scale 2.5D and 3D pieces and templates using our CNC. Provide expertise and support in designing, implementing, and improving our production-side digital processes and development of expanding digital tool sets. Troubleshoot programming and mechanical aspects of our equipment. Assist in the training of supporting staff members in proper use and maintenance of Digital Fabrication/CNC/ Laser Etching/Laser cutting equipment. Coordinate the sourcing, procurement, and storage of materials, supplies, and tooling depending on the projects’ needs. Stay up to date with relevant technology and developments and pursue continuing education in the field. Coordinate with the Production Manager, Director of Fabrication, Design Engineers, and Project Managers to determine scope of work. Work independently and in collaboration with fabrication staff. Assure projects are kept on track and tasks are completed in allotted time. Coordinate with Production Manager, Project Managers and Director of Fabrication to schedule pickups, drop-offs and shipments. Research materials, hardware, finishes, methodologies. Provide recommendations in support of fabrication. Develop material take offs hardware and finish schedules in support of purchasing. Measure with precision and layout parts for fabrication Generate cut lists for fabrication of component parts. Conduct site surveys, gather information relevant and essential to logistics, fitment and installation of projects. Work independently and in collaboration with installation teams. Proof Steps of process, confirm accuracy, optimize, and quantify precision and efficiency Plan work for safe and efficient execution with consideration of logistics and order of operations. Set up and operate stationary and handheld power tools in a safe manner. Create jigs and fixtures for the safe and effective production of parts. Handle materials and products with care. Maintain tools, machinery, benches, materials hardware, and workspaces in a clean and organized manner. Cut, fit, fabricate, and finish components and complete projects Punctuality, reliability, and polite professionalism is expected Comply with all safety protocols. Attend and participate in safety meetings. Observe and report unsafe conditions and practices to your supervisor. Contribute to the Logbook of projects on CNC and Laser; Record feeds, speeds, tools, materials and Run times/Tolerances.
