RedBud-Male Pitbull Mix at Large

A male white pitbull with spots of grey was running at large in RedBud Park in the pre-dawn hours. He kept trying to come in and attack my dog, who is over 10 years old and no match for a pitbull. I know he is a male because I kicked him in the piss pump a couple of times when he charged my dog and tried to engage him. He snapped at me, but I would expect nothing less. I have seen him running loose out there one time before, but he did not come in on us that time. He wasn't seeking friendship or trying to be friendly, he was being openly hostile and aggressive towards my dog. It took me 45 minutes of fending him off for me and my dog to cover the 1/4 mile back to my vehicle. The pitbull was only wearing a flea collar and no rabies tag. If he is there again tomorrow, I will be armed with a wrist rocket and pepper spray. I am going to ruin his day if he tries to attack my dog again. After this incident this morning, APD was notified, and the dispatcher in turn notified animal control. Get your animal under control and make sure he has a collar with his rabies tag attached in case he gets loose again. If he actually got teeth into me or my dog this morning, without a rabies tag I would have ended him on the spot by whatever means was available.
