Description

Volunteer with White Harvest Farms at The Clara White Garden Volunteering with WHF at The Clara White Garden is an experiential learning opportunity where volunteers actively perform tasks associated with growing organic vegetables. WHF staff explain assignments and work alongside volunteers as they perform a range of tasks associated with regenerative farming. Volunteer tasks are physical - planting, weeding, bed prep, mulching, harvesting, washing produce, bagging and labeling produce. Actions like digging, raking, bending, twisting, using a wheelbarrow, lifting are part of volunteering with WHF at The Clara White Garden. When coming to volunteer at Clara White Garden, volunteers should wear clothes for outdoor work that they do not mind getting dirty. We recommend closed toe shoes, pants, breathable long sleeve shirts and a hat. Also consider bringing sunscreen, bug spray and gardening gloves. We provide drinking water but please bring a water bottle that you can refill. We drink a lot of water at WHF! We ask that volunteers practice social distancing and wear a mask while on the farm. Especially when you arrive, sign in, congregate as a group or anytime you are involved in harvesting produce. We ask that you do not volunteer if you are feeling unwell. Thank you so much for supporting White Harvest Farms! We could not do what we do without your help! *** IMPORTANT NOTICE *** SAFETY FIRST When you arrive the morning of your shift, please wear a mask. Gloves will be provided to you . If you are not feeling your best, please reschedule. We appreciate your helping hands and want to exercise CDC recommendations to keep us all safe.
