Please join Compass Point home of Dirty Girl Adventures on a special fundraising hike for the Organization for the Development of the Indigenous Maya. All proceeds from this event will go directly to ODIM as part of our fundraising efforts for 2022. Your ticket price is a DONATION! There will be a few special items for raffle and an opportunity to listen and learn more about this special organization and hear plans for Dirty Girl Adventures 2023 service adventure trip. This is a great event to attend if you are thinking about going to Guatemala or if you just want an opportunity to give back while you are having fun! We will float and paddle and enjoy the sunset together, knowing that our participation in this event is going to benefit ODIIM. The hike will be on the 2.5 mile Thunder Ridge Trail which includes a wide variety of terrain and scenery as well as steep inclines/declines, rocky and rooted surfaces and pasture crossings. It is an excellent way to see many of the natural sites found in the glaciated region of Northeast Kansas. This means lots of NATURE! WHEN: Saturday November 5th Check in at 1:00pm near the Thunder Ridge Trail located in Slough Creek Public Use Area (specific directions will be emailed with details on Nov. 3rd) What to expect: We will have a fire and some time together before and after the hike. We will share information about our upcoming Service Adventure trip and host a special raffle for items to support the Health of the Mayan Mothers and Babies that we are supporting. Please plan to enjoy some time around the fire post hike to socialize and connect with others. Bring: lawn chair, snacks and beverages of choice Wear: Layered hiking clothes, hat, gloves Dirty Girl Adventures Event Refund Policy: This is a fundraiser. We would like to retain your generous donation regardless of your ability to attend. What are you paying for? It’s more than a walk in the woods, it’s an experience! We will lprovide guide service to orient you to the trail, the terrain and the flora and fauna found along the way. We will provide instruction, support, guidance and safety information before and during each event. We will be there with you for the duration of the event doing our best to help you remain comfortable and engaged in the adventure.
