Description

Brought to you by Independent Women's Network + Partners For Ethical Care Where: Pickwick Theatre Park Ridge (5 S Prospect Ave, Park Ridge, IL 60068) When: Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. The number of transgender-identifying youth has exploded in the last decade, leaving parents, educators, medical professionals, and politicians at odds over what policies will best protect the long-term health and well-being of children. As a one-sided echo chamber pushes an "affirmation-only" model — which promotes “preferred” names and pronouns, puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, and medically invasive surgeries that leave children with irreversible damage to their developing bodies — a growing share of the public feels silenced. The Identity Crisis Film Tour seeks to change that by offering perspectives from individuals who’ve experienced the harms of the gender ideology movement first-hand. Our film tour will feature short documentaries from the “Identity Crisis” film series, produced by Independent Women's Forum, including the stories of mothers whose daughters fell victim to gender ideology and detransitioners who warn of the harms of socially and medically transitioning. We will also feature “Dysphoric”, a four-part documentary series produced by Vaishnavi Sundar about the rise of gender identity ideology and its effects on women and girls. Following the film screenings, stay for a live discussion with the individuals featured in the documentaries, followed by audience Q&A. Special Guests: JEANNETTE a mother who lost custody of her daughter for insisting that her daughter is a girlJENNIFER a mother whose daughter was secretly affirmed behind her back by her local public schoolDAISY a female detransitioner who after top surgery and hormones, decided she wanted to be a momKELSEY BOLAR executive producer of 'Identity Crisis'Independent Women’s Network, a project of Independent Women’s Voice, in partnership with Independent Women’s Forum, is a positive, supportive community of engaged, informed, and activated women working together to inspire, interact, influence, and have impact. Partners For Ethical Care works to raise awareness and support efforts to stop the unethical treatment of children by schools, hospitals, and mental and medical healthcare providers under the duplicitous banner of gender identity affirmation.
