Saint Joseph’s Arts Foundation presents the Box Sessions with Laura Holson at Little Saint, featuring Pixar artists Peter Docter and Louis Gonzales. Conversation moderated by Laura Holson. Now is your chance to learn how to draw Mike and Sully from Monsters, Inc. by the artists who originally drew them! Louis Gonzales joined Pixar in Dec. 2000 to work on “Monsters, Inc.” as a layout artist, also working on the Oscar winner “Finding Nemo.” He worked as a story artist for films like “The Incredibles,” “Cars,” “Ratatouille,” and “Brave.” He also worked on features including “Monsters University” “ and “Incredibles 2." Gonzales most recently made his directorial debut with “Nona,” As a young boy growing up in the San Fernando Valley, Gonzales was interested in film and graffiti and wanted to tell stories. Pete Docter is an American animator, film director, producer and chief creative officer of Pixar. He is best known for directing the Pixar animated feature films "Monsters, Inc.," "Up," "Inside Out," and "Soul," and as a key figure and collaborator at Pixar. He has been nominated for nine Oscars and has won three for Best Animated Feature—for "Up," "Inside Out" and "Soul" — making him the first person in history to win the category three times. Laura Holson is an award-winning New York Times writer, traveler and founder of The Box Sessions, a series of immersive creative gatherings that celebrate and cultivate personal creativity.
