Attend our internationally-touring event PROJECT BLACKBIRD featuring the Oscar-qualifying film 'Blackbird' and a talkback with special guests!
Our featured film, 'Blackbird' is based on a true story of two young women and their connection at an eating disorder treatment center: One Black, reserved, upper-class, and struggling with Bulimia, the other Caucasian, bubbly and impoverished - take us on this journey of finding connection and common ground. The film's message is vital and relatable across all areas of mental health: Connection with others and connection with ourselves are both imperative to our mental health and wellbeing. Let's help each other fly when we don't yet have the wings to fly ourselves.
Our event features these themes, and aims to de-stigmatize mental health discussion within minority communities: we hope to #ShedShame surrounding mental health for all individuals.
We have been featured at NEDA's yearly convention, as well as major cities and universities around the United States, and we are excited to bring our tour to you for our first major event in Savannah, GA - where PROJECT BLACKBIRD originated!
