In this course, an evidence-based, all-digital implant workflow will be presented and executed hands-on, step by step. The system presented will enhance the quality and outcome of the care you provide, and the experience of your patients. At the same time, your joy, efficiency, and profitability will increase. Placing and restoring implants should be a routine service provided in the modern dental practice. Don’t be left behind. After taking this course participants will be comfortable placing a single implant predictably in practice, ready to evolve and take their practice to the next level. Course Objectives: 1) Learn the principles of the ideal clinical situation and implant placement 2) Rationale for Guided Surgery 3) Learn the principles of the ideal implant restoration 4) Hands-on scanning, planning, and designing a surgical guide 5) Hands-on implant placement 6) Hands-on scanning for implant restoration 7) Hands-on restoration of implant 8) Learn design of custom tissue healing abutments and provisional restorations 9) Learn the financial and clinical impacts of a science-based all-digital workflow Each Doctor/Assistant team will have access to a scanner, laptop with software, and handpiece motor to plan, place, and restore an implant. Course Faculty: Dr. Michael Young. Dr. Young was an early adopter of digital dentistry and operates a private practice in Sterling Heights, MI. He graduated from the University of Michigan School Dentistry in 1994. He is a Mentor for the Kois Center and a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, Detroit District Dental Association, Pierre Fauchard Association, International College of Dentists, and American College of Dentists. Dr. Young has lectured and presented on 3D digital dentistry, including 3D imaging, CAD/CAM, Implant planning, and 3D printing, in addition to other topics. Dr. Michael Young is passionate about how 3D digital dentistry can transform dental practice and the care and experience our patients receive. Course Faculty: Dr. Jay R. Lopez is a 6th generation Tucson native. He graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Colorado Health Science Center, School of Dentistry. Dr. Lopez has been practicing dentistry since 1997. He has continuously pursued postdoctoral training to develop expertise in a wide range of technologies, surgical techniques and prosthodontic techniques. He has completed the Pikos Implant Institute continuum in Florida. Dr. Lopez is also a graduate and Clinical Instructor for The Kois Center in Seattle, Washington where he helps doctors from all over the world achieve their dream of dental excellence. He has participated in many post-doctorate education courses, mentored dentists, and instructed them. He is a member of various local and national dental organizations including: American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Academy of Osseointegration, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Orthodontic Society, Academy of General Dentistry and many others.
