PLEASE NOTE: This is a 3rd shift Sun-Th 10:30pm-7am position. POSITION OVERVIEW: Under direct supervision, perform routine material handling functions such as inventory control, data entry, shipment of orders, process shipping documents, moving product, pulling stock or restocking materials and general housekeeping. Use equipment such as scanning gun, stand-up and standard forklift; and fill material requisitions and/or orders using First-In-First-Out (FIFO) principles and identify discrepancies as well as may pack products for finished goods. Conduct cycle counts, location verification of materials and resolve warehouse discrepancies following standard operating procedures. Follow organizations’ safety policies, practices and protocols. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Pulls and provides material from stock following FIFO procedures for production manufacturing as requested. Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and/or procurement staff. Receives loads and unloads incoming and/or outing materials, products and/or finished goods. Compares information on packing or bill of lading slip to verify accuracy of shipment; enters transactions in computer to transfer material into JD Edwards (JDE) material system. Operates scanning gun, dolly, pallet jack, stand-up and/or standard forklift. Executes cycle counts, material location verification reports and collects and prepares routine administrative paperwork; stocks incoming material in appropriate warehouse location. Undertakes housekeeping functions in the warehouse, including following the Company’s 5S program. Follows established departmental policies, procedures and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental and/or infection control standards. Supports team members by assisting as required. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate and 1 year of directly related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Understand and follow standard operating and safety procedures used in materials management. Work independently and foster a cooperative spirit within a large and/or small team environment. Handle a high-volume workflow within a manufacturing setting. Prioritize, work with and meet deadlines with a high-level of accuracy in a fast-paced warehouse. Operate commercial materials handling equipment such as dolly lift, stand-up/standard forklift and scanning gun. Read and comprehend oral and written instructions and create e-mails at a basic to intermediate English level. Add and subtract whole numbers and multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s; read, sort, check, count and verify numbers. Deal with problems and issues involving some variation in standardized situations. Carry out detailed uninvolved written and oral instructions. Basic knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system such as JD Edwards; basic Microsoft Office Suite and OBI software skills. Basic organizing and coordinating skills.
