After a 2 year online-only run necessitated by the pandemic, the New York Short Film Festival is back in action live at the Cinema Village Theatre in Union Square! We are seeking a small team to assist with the festival screenings, running every evening from November 11th - 17th, as well as our kickoff and wrap parties, on the evenings of November 10th and 18th. Those with a love of film and interest in the indie side of the industry are particularly encouraged to apply! Potential Responsibilities: -Assistance with set up and breakdown of festival table and promotional items -Ticketing and check ins for screenings and parties -Selling merchandise / serving refreshments -Answering filmmaker and guest questions in an informed, welcoming manner -Only for those comfortable and interested, opportunity to run filmmaker Q&As! Shifts: We are seeking 1 assistant per evening at this time. Screening shifts begin at 5:30pm and assistants are free to leave after the last screening begins at 10:30pm. Kickoff party shift will begin at 6pm and go until approximately 11pm. Closing Party shift is still TBD but will most likely be 7pm-midnight. Stipend & Perks: -$50 Stipend per shift -AT SCREENINGS: Payout from refreshment tips, regardless of actual post -AT PARTIES: Meal covered by NYSFF -Free Admission to all screenings (even on nights you’re working as long as circumstances permit) -If you are not working the party shifts, you are more than welcome to join us as a guest with cover charge waived!
