Description
MURRIETA, CA — The City of Murrieta in partnership with Riverside County Public Health is now providing free, walk-up coronavirus testing — a first in the city.
Testing is open to those with and without symptoms living in Riverside County, the city announced.
The testing site will operate on Fridays, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., outside the Murrieta Community Center located at 41810 Juniper Street.
With guidance from site staff, participants will self-administer a mouth-swab PCR test and receive results in about two days, according to the city.
Appointments are not required, but pre-registration can secure a space and speed up the process, the city said. Pre-register at http://bit.ly/CityofMurrietaTesting.
Walk-ups can also register at the testing site.
Murrieta Mayor Scott Vinton said he appreciates the local partnership.
"Until now, Murrieta did not have a dedicated COVID test site. We are pleased to work with Riverside County to provide this important service close to home," Vinton said.
As a public safety measure, anyone who comes to the test site is asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
