Description
I'm looking for a vocalist who would like to sing jazz tunes from the Great American Songbook. Songs like Misty, Someone to Watch Over Me, A Day in the Life of a Fool, etc. I'm a guitar player with 50+ years experience playing classical, folk, jazz, and rock music. I sing also, but I'm more of a folk music singer. I'm a pretty good guitar player, though, and would hope for the vocalist to also be pretty good at hitting the notes.
I live in the Benson area, and unless you're close by I would want to collaborate remotely for the most part. Trading recordings or realtime online sessions are possible options, I just don't want to drive distances to rehearsals once or twice week. Using charts from one of the Real Books or something similar should make progress fairly quick, but I would hope for a very low stress collaboration.
Every now and then we could get together and play the songs we've been working on. As I'm sure you've surmised, this isn't going to be a big money maker, but ultimately it would be good to play out a bit. Age isn't terribly important, but I'm retirement age and it would probably make sense if you were somewhere in that age grouping also. Female or male vocalists are welcome, I'll play in whatever key is appropriate.
If this interests you, please use the Craigslist reply and we can send each other samples to see if we might want to give it a shot. If you reply, please include something personable so I know that you're a human being and not a reply-bot.
