The following list details general cleaning duties that are expected of the janitorial worker. Additional tasks may be requested from time to time (i.e. floor stripping and waxing). Additional duties shall be agreed upon by Authority officials and the janitorial duties prior to services being rendered. Any additional duties performed shall be given additional time to complete the task. The Authority shall provide all necessary equipment and supplies required to perform the required duties. Questions regarding the cleaning requirements should be directed to the Facilities Manager. I. General Duties: A. Dusting: Tables, desks, file cabinets, windowsills, radiators should be done daily. Walls, pictures on walls, and ceilings must be dusted as required to remove dust webs. B. Waste Baskets: All wastebaskets are to be emptied and fresh liners put in daily. All garbage collected needs to be dumped in the garbage bins outside daily. C. Furniture/Blinds: Fabric covered furniture should be vacuumed once per week. Blinds should be dusted once per week. D. Rest Rooms: Stools, urinals, sinks, floors and mirrors, must be cleaned daily. Paper products, personal needs and soap dispensers are to be kept stocked daily. II. Specific Duties: A. Floors: 1. Carpeted Areas: Vacuumed and spot cleaned daily. Shampooed as needed 2. Tiled Areas: Drivers lounge, hallways, Maintenance Office’s should be dust mopped daily and wet-mopped daily. B. Walls: 1. Front Offices: Spot clean as necessary to maintain appearance. 2. Rest Rooms: Walls of all rest rooms should be cleaned weekly, including stalls and showers. C. Office Break Room: Clean counters, tables and sink daily. Wash dishes, cups, coffee pots and silverware daily. JATA will provide cleaning supplies which must be maintained in sanitary condition. D. Windows: The inside & outside of all windows are to be cleaned a minimum of once per quarter. High traffic area windows (front door) should be cleaned daily. E. Drivers Lounge: Wipe down all tables daily. Floor swept and mopped daily. F. Deneka Building Bathroom: Clean Sink and Toilets Daily. Mop Bathroom floor 1-2 per week. COVID-19 RELATED DUTIES: Due to COVID-19 the following Highly Touched Areas will be disinfected daily: • Door Knobs, door handles • Counter tops • Tables • Bathrooms • *During some seasons you may be required to clean/wipe down the interior of the buses while parked to help stop spread of daily germs due to COVID-19 • All other duties as assigned All work to be performed in the evening hours starting at 5:00 pm www.mijata.org
