Description
Howdy,
I've been working on some music with a friend of mine who plays guitar. We're interested in creating a band around a project that we've started. We're only a few songs in but would love to start jamming with some additional musicians to flesh out our sound.
We're both in our 30s and live around downtown Columbus (I'm in German Village; he's in Grandview Heights where we practice). We have about three completed songs that we're mixing vocals for at the moment. My influences include Lacuna Coil, Nothing More, A Perfect Circle, Breaking Benjamin, Fair to Midland, Chevelle, Depeche Mode, Palaye Royal, Soen, Sleep Token and more. We're definitely going for a heavy, moody, and dark vibe - chunky bass, sharp guitars with some synth work.
We're currently calling the project the MDQ which is a reference to an A Perfect Circle song.
We both work full-time in pretty demanding jobs but make time to get together at least once a week. Goal is to craft a nice demo/selection of works, play shows in the Columbus area and eventually take the show on the road. We wouldn't say no if this became a full-time thing!
The guitarist has played professionally for years in a number different bands, various styles and went to school for music. I'm just a scrappy little kid who played in some prog/punk bands in the DC area; mostly house shows and basement demo recordings. You don't have to be a professional or some sort of savant. Just be cool and down-to-earth.
Ideally looking for a guitarist, bassist and drummer within our age bracket - any gender or gender expression is fine!
Please do not be a racist, transphobe, xenophobe, homophobe or anything along those lines. We're both minorities and I am a part of the Homosexual Alliance. If you're interested in linking up, feel free to shoot me a message. I'll send over samples of both what we're working on and previous works that we've done.
Peace,
N
