Description

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at What Cheer Flower Farm! Register here for our weekly open volunteer day every: Wednesday, 9am-12pm ORSaturday, 9am-12pmOpen volunteer days are great for people interested in helping out with our everyday farming and floristry tasks on the farm. This may include: weeding, planting, digging, watering, harvesting and trimming flowers, arranging bouquets, and helping us clean up the property. Farm Conditions/Accessibility: It can be more than 10 degrees hotter here than the rest of the state. Make sure you're prepared for the day's weather and please wear comfortable, close-toed shoes. Sandals, crocs, loose clogs, etc. not being appropriate for the mixed terrain. Wear something sturdy! We provide bug spray, sunscreen, and gloves, though you may bring your own, if you prefer them. Tools are provided as well. Volunteers on these days should be able to stand the entire time, walk on moderate mixed terrain, and be able to lift at least 25 pounds. Instruction will be provided for all tasks, all comfort levels are welcome. (Instruction is only in English at this time).Parking: While we do have enough parking for each day's worth of volunteer's cars (~6), we strongly encourage carpooling, walking, using RIPTA (we're two blocks away from four bus routes) and biking! Registration: All volunteers must register for each "shift". Meaning if you want to bring a friend, family member or colleague to volunteer with you (please do! :) they need to sign up with this link, too. A release form will be required to be signed by each volunteer on the day of their visit. Ages :14 yr and up only. Youth must receive permission from a parent or guardian prior to visit. A release form will be emailed out in advance. Can't make it on Wednesday or Saturday mornings? Looking for administrative or sitting tasks? Or perhaps you have a larger group (more than 6 people, the limit for each day's "shift")? Please fill out this form if you haven't already. Or email us at [email protected]
