This fall, the Shasta College Concert Choir will be joined by instrumentalists and singers from the music department for an evening of vocal and instrumental music. The choir will perform music from the early American colonial period, centered around an adapted setting of the famous Shaker hymn “’Tis the Gift to Be Simple.” Also included will be some music to bring us into the holiday season, including John Rutter’s “Blow Thou Winter Wind” and a setting of “Sing We to This Merry Company.” We will round out the evening with several instrumental performances, most notably Aidan Rogers’ performance of Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 23 in F minor, Appassionata. This concert will be a spirited prelude to the Thanksgiving season; we hope to see you there!
