Indy Juneteenth is bringing a Hair Show to the state of Indiana that is 100% for the culture. Black hair stylists, black owned hair care products, and black owned salons, will compete and promote how beautiful black hair truly is. Many times, in public, at work, or even in relationships, black hair is viewed as subpar, unprofessional, or not good. Well, we are promoting that good hair. Black is beautiful and black hair is even more beautiful. Indy Juneteenth is proud to bring you the 1st Annual, The Crown Hair Show for The Culture. The importance of events like this is because black hair is a legacy and has a story that is seldom told. From braids mapping out routes to freedom during slavery to afros being a statement of black identity and black unity. Black hair is the only thing in this universe that defies gravity. And as society's narratives have always tried to untangle our roots, Indy Juneteenth is allowing several hair stylists to tell our story. From the queen of the universe to tribe representation, these scenes will blow your mind. Have a chance to support Black Businesses as many will display their homemade and all natural products. Black Beauty Shops will not only have products for all hair types, but they will also show you new locations to purchase hair care products in the community. Sit back and enjoy the show. -A fantasy where stylists will style their models hair in a look that is beyond this galaxy while still representing black culture. - A vintage scene where stylists will choose a decade between the 1950s to 2000s and style their models to best represent that specific era. - A creative beard scene where stylists will have models creatively showcase their beards. Creativity, length, fullness, and style will all be important in this scene. - A tribal lock/braid scene.
