Description
Family owned and operated company with over 35 years serving the automotive community is looking for a shipping and receiving clerk.
We are looking for a reliable individual with a strong sense of responsibility and punctuality. Must be able to work in a moderately-paced environment and maintain the pace throughout the day. Must be organized and focused, and display a courteous and positive attitude towards coworkers and vendors. Must be able to lift heavy boxes (40-50 lbs.), stand for long periods of time and walk up and down stairs. English speaker preferred, Spanish is a plus. Must be able to work legally in the USA.
Responsibilities include:
• Maintaining the stockroom clean and organized, ready to start packing new orders.
• Receiving products from vendors and confirming their accuracy for product, quantity and condition against the packing slips and purchase order.
• Assigning the newly received parts to the pending outgoing shipments or stock location.
• Maintaining shipments organized and prioritized by shipping method.
• Reviewing missing parts from outgoing shipments to determine shipping ETA.
• Communicating with salesmen to inform them of missing parts for their orders as needed.
• Making boxes to properly and securely package all shipments.
• Assessing needs for different packaging products and ordering directly with pre-approved suppliers.
• Collaborating and communicating with the service department to hand over service parts in a timely manner.
• Engaging vendors, drivers, customers (when needed) with a positive and courteous attitude.
• Tracking, tracing, and updating the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Providing additional backup support for shipping and receiving departments, such as reports, inventory, etc.
The job requires a schedule of M-F 8am – 5:00 pm with a half-hour lunch break.
The pay rate offered is $13/ hour. We offer vacation time and holiday pay after the first-year anniversary.
