Description
We are hiring Line Handlers to be On-call, as needed. The expected hours are 10-20 per week.
Position Snapshot
As an Operations Line Handler, you will be responsible for securing and removing a ship's dock lines at port. The Line Handler is expected to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time in all weather conditions. Ensures compliance with company procedures, EPA, OSHA, and other federal, state, and local regulations.

Day in the Life
Catches and throws heaving lines from ship's docking.
Pulls mooring lines down the dock and secure to bollards and removes mooring lines from bollards.
Drives line handling vehicle or boat.
Performs dock inspections prior to vessel arrival.
Performs other, related duties as assigned. These are duties that may not be specifically listed in this description, but which are within the general nature typically associated with the employee's level of work.
What you need to apply
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Valid Drivers License.
Must have good interpersonal skills; be patient and tactful; display an enthusiastic, cooperative and friendly attitude at all times with managers/supervisors, co-workers, visitors, customers and clients.
Ability to read and interpret simple documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures.
Required to stand, walk, stoop, reach, climb or balance. Will routinely lift move up to 50 pounds.
