Description
Manufacturing Copmany in San Diego in immediate need of Facilities Technician. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Facilities Technician is responsible for minor repair of the facilities throughout the site to insure minimal disruption to the production and office function. Strong focus on cGMP, Food Safety and Haz-Recs. Facilities Technician will provide services to production, support and research areas Monday through Friday on 8 hours shift with overtime as needed. The Technician may be required to work in one or more plant areas, doing one or multiple assignments on any given work-shift. The type of support includes but is not limited to the following: Implements and supports the environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) management system and the J.M. Huber Corporation EH&S and Quality Policy. • Performs basic repairs of the Facility. • Performs basic plumbing task, paint touch-up, replace light bulbs. • Install/ hang signs • Rain Gutter Repair • Window screen repair • Replace missing/ broken ceiling tile • Painting of safety walkway lines • Basic drywall and floor repair jobs (not asphalt repair) (no special equipment needed) • Hanging new strip curtains or replacing old strip curtain • Door handle/door closer repair and replacement • California Clean (as needed) • Sweep debris, wash down walkways, stack pallets perform work in non-accessible area of the plant in compliance with cGMP and Safety Policies (as needed) • Effectively communicate safety and procedural issues with coworkers and supervisors. • Follows Company, state, and federal guidelines concerning safety and environmental protection. • Proper use of Mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) conforming to cGMP standards is required. • The employee must be capable of operating forklifts, trucks, scissor-lifts, lifting equipment and various hand tools. Position requires certification Ariel Lift and Fall Protection. • Physical requirements are provided in more detail on pages 2-3. REQUIRED COMPETENCIES AND CERTIFICATIONS: Possesses basic mathematics and English language reading skills. Possess a Valid Drivers License Member of CPR / Emergency Team a plus (Training will be provided by Company) Forklift certification (Training will be provided by Company) Ariel Lift and Fall Protection Certified (Training will be provided by Company Must be able to use work tools as needed for the job. Must have broad knowledge of a wide variety of minor building repair. DESIRED EDUCATIONAL AND WORK EXPERIENCES: Requires high school diploma or equivalent required, Prior manufacturing experience in food or chemical plant preferred CGMP and or HACCP experience & training. Experience working on small building repairs / construction. Basic building repair experience.
