Indy is a male German Shepherd. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, heart worm and flea medicine, and housebroken. He stays out in the house at night, but will sit in a kennel if necessary.
Indy has recently decided he needs to be alpha. He is a very dominant dog and would do best in an adult only home, or a home with older children, and one in which he would be the only dog. He weighs over 100 pounds at his heaviest, so his size is dangerous to little ones as he thinks he is a lap dog.
He has a broken and healed tail, it is in an L shape at the bottom. He has had it since he was born and it doesn’t bother him at all.
He will come with a shopping bag full of food to help ease his transition, several months supply of heart worm medicine, his rabies tag, shot records, and a leash with dog bags and a holder for them. I will pay to change the owner information on the microchip.
He probably could use a good bath.
This dog does not have a mean bone in his body. He is extremely docile with humans. Other dogs, however, are an issue. He needs a job or he becomes destructive, and regular exercise helps him regulate his behavior.
He is a huge commitment given his size, breed, and drive. He responds well to positive reinforcement and does not do well with aggressive training methods.
Whomever takes him needs to have the time and experience to make sure he has everything he needs.
