We are looking for Permanent and Substitute Volunteer meal delivery drivers. Our drivers deliver meals to home-bound seniors within the City of Irvine at least one day a week, Monday - Friday. Our volunteers also provide kind and a friendly face to a population who often cannot leave their homes. This is a fantastic opportunity to make an immediate and personal difference to someone’s life. Our permanent drivers have a regular weekly schedule and deliver the same route week to week. Our substitute drivers are an invaluable group of volunteers who we contact when a regularly scheduled driver becomes unavailable due to illness or vacation. We try to give a week or two notice, but sometimes we may only have 1 days’ notice. All drivers arrive at the Lakeview Senior Center pickup location between 10:00am and 12:00pm and usually finished their routes within 1 to 1 ½ hours. Currently, the program is operating Tuesday and Wednesday but we will be operating 5 days a week starting in November. REQUIREMENTS : -Must be +21 -Completed Volunteer Application & Live Scan background check -Valid driver’s license, vehicle registration & proof of insurance for all drivers* *Passengers (non-drivers) do not need driver’s license, registration and proof of insurance -Commitment of 6 months
