Professional Bass Player Ready to Collaborate

Description

Plenty of stage and studio recording experience with 4 LP albums under my belt. I have a decent 9-5 job and not planning to change that for now. That said, money through music is not a priority these days. More important for me is the quality of sound of the band and the quality of gigs. The band must have an advanced-expert drummer. I respect everyone's space and time. I am trained to always be on time (for gigs and practices) and to bring zero drama to the group. Will expect the same from my fellow musicians. Willing to rehearse (depending on driving distances) between 1-3 nights a week. I don't have a place to practice but have a decent set-up to record my own stuff. I am all about collaborating with all the great talents out there. Barter: I give you the bassline you are looking for and you give a nice guitar lick, singing melody, a B3 solo, or some drumming. I can play tight-solid grooves. I'm not the best rock-n-roll bass player out there and definitely not interested in playing the usual and extremely boring covers everyone seems to agree to play. The way I see playable covers is that the artist has to be a dead (or a retired) Legend. My biggest influences come from black music and mostly black bass players. Africa is where it all started right? I can play with worldwide studio quality, timing, tone and punch: Reggae, Afrobeat, Blues, Funk, Soul, R/B, Fusion, and Afrocuban basslines (or anything between those). Google/Spotify: I am a founding member of Millo Torres y El Tercer Planeta out of San Juan, PR. They are still actively recording and playing today after 25 years (easier said than done). If you want to hear what I was bringing back then (I can still bring it even better), I am playing bass on 100% of the songs in Millo's first four albums: SoƱando Realidad (1997), Caminando (1999), Mundo de Locura (2001), Canciones de Reggae y Ska "LIVE" (2003), and the compilation LP named 1999-2002. Plenty of videos in YouTube. Canciones de Reggae y Ska is a live album recorded in 2003 at Anfiteatro Tito Puente in San Juan. I believe there is no better resume than a live album with no opportunity for overdubs. I live in New Port Richey area but spend most of my weekends in St. Pete. Hit me up funky drummer, or talented else... Cheers!
