Description
This here is Juzo (the impermanent name my fiancé and I have given him). For starters he is incredibly sweet. He is a cat that I noticed in our neighborhood maybe a year ago when he came right up to me meowing. Upon inspection, he was covered in flees and incredibly malnourished.
I reached out to every local pet organization but no one had space or was willing to take him. We heavily considered taking him, but we have three cats of our own already, and more is just too much.
He is very reluctant to come inside but definitely became curious about it once I spent some time with him. I immediately got him flea, tick, and worm medicine and fed him as much as I could. I built a cat house for him outside but he does not stay in it.
I have continued to feed him when I see him and for awhile there he was looking much healthier. I did not see him all of last winter and wondered if he had passed away, but spring came and I saw him in the field across from my home!
I thought his perseverance may have meant he can take care of himself well enough, and over the summer I continued to feed him, but he is once again looking very flea ridden and incredibly skinny. He is, however, sweet as ever, just wanting to be pet and held. He never has any problem when I put my hands near the food I give him or pick it up.
He needs someone who has enough care and means in them to give him a home so he does not perish. He needs someone who has the time to come out and hang out with him until he gets comfortable before they coax him into a crate to take him home. I am going to continue to do everything I can to find him a home, because he absolutely deserves one.
