JOB SUMMARY Join our local sanitation team in a growing valley! A Route Helper assists the Rearload driver to ensure the alley routes are run efficiently, safely and on-schedule. We pride ourselves on friendly, respectful service. Position is part-time with a guaranteed 25 - 30 hours per week minimum, primarily Monday - Wednesday. Other duties include operating a local equipment delivery route. Possibility for additional hours, as available. CDL Class B applicants are also encouraged to apply and can be compensated at a higher hourly wage. Please send a resume or recent work history, PDF or Word attachments preferred. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Operates the bin lifter to unload the bin. • Returns bins to the proper location. • Steps up and down repeatedly to the riding position at the back of the truck in alleys, approximately 16 inches. • Holds on to the side handrail for safety purposes. • Sits, stands, stoops, bends, climbs and walks intermittently. • Works out-of-doors, possibly under adverse weather conditions. • Learns and understands hand signals. • Works efficiently and diligently to maintain route schedule. • Assists in the general maintenance and cleaning of vehicles and equipment. • Facility maintenance duties, as assigned. • Uses hand tools, such as a broom, shovel, rake or other small tools, as required. • Operates container delivery route using Delivery truck. REQUIREMENTS • Must have authorization to legally work in the United States. • Must have a valid Driver’s License. • Have knowledge and/or the ability to learn about occupational hazards and safety precautions. • Ability to walk behind the truck and repeatedly lift, move, and carry heavy objects weighing 40 pounds or more. • Ability to be alert to traffic and aware of both safe and unsafe procedures and situations that may occur. • Ability to wear company uniform for the job and maintain a neat, professional appearance. • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other personnel and the public. • Must be a team player and work well under minimal supervision.
