Janice Card will lead the workshop where each participant will make a bracelet that can be given as a gift to a loved one or to themselves; it is a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon with friends during this holiday season. Sign up today as space is limited! Nantucket bracelets are hand woven on a brass cuff using Nantucket Lightship Basket material of rattan. Rattan is also used in wicker furniture and is known to be strong, pliable and durable. Bracelets can feature woods such as walnut, cherry or ebony. Each wooden stave is cut, sanded and individually shaped to the brass cuff. The end caps, either acrylic or ivory pieces on the bangles, finish each bracelet neatly. Workshop fee of $125 includes supplies for one bracelet, instruction and light refreshments; Supplies include (1) bracelet form, acrylic end caps, and the canes. Ivory end caps are available for an additional fee.
