What: Bicycle Collective New Hub and Headquarters Ground Breaking Celebration When: Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 12:45 pm - 2:30pm. Where: 901 Gale Street, Salt Lake City, UT (900 South, 325 West, Salt Lake City, UT). Why: To celebrate this long journey to a New Hub and community bike shop in the Central Ninth District. We will have a gathering on the site of our New Hub at 901 Gale Street to celebrate the breaking of ground for our new building. Our journey started with a vision supported by the Redevelopment Agency of Salt Lake City (RDA) when they awarded Bicycle Collective with the piece of land upon which to build this dream. Thanks to the generous support of individual donors large and small, private foundations and grants, we have now come full circle with the RDA once again stepping in to finance the balance in the form of construction bridge loan so we can lock in and commence the project amid escalating constructions costs. Stop by the site and hear remarks from Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall, members of Salt Lake City Council, and various Bicycle Collective stakeholders, and share the excitement for the role our New Hub will play in the future of active transportation in SLC. As parking is limited we encourage attendees to walk, ride bikes, or take public transportation. Bike Valet will be available. Parking may be available in across the street in the Fleet Block. Light refreshments and beverages will be available.
