Description

Shavuot for the Hebrew Year 5783 begins in the Diaspora at sundown Thursday, May 25, 2023, and ends at nightfall on Saturday, May 27, 2023. Pentecost 2023 is celebrated on Sunday, May 28, 2023. There is a parallel in History between the creation of the Jewish Nation and the United States of America. The beginning of both Israel and the US as nations was marked by a Covenant. The festival of Shavuot ("Weeks") marks the culmination of the experience of redemption, sometimes called the "Gathering of Passover." Since the great Exodus from Egypt was intended to lead to the revelation of Sinai, the goal of Passover is the giving of the Torah to the Jewish people. God took the Jews out of Egypt so they would be His own treasured people, holy and separated from the pagan cultures around them. Indeed, all of the holidays are connected with this event, including the fall festivals of Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and Sukkot. The new moon of Nisan marks the start of sacred time, Passover remembers the sacrifice of the Passover Lamb, the first day of Unleavened Bread remembers the Exodus from Egypt, the seventh day of Unleavened Bread remembers the crossing of the Red Sea, the counting of the Omer recalls the days before the giving of the Torah at Sinai, and Shavuot remembers the giving of the Torah exactly seven weeks after the Exodus (on Sivan 6). Indeed, Shavuot at Mount Sinai is sometimes considered the day on which the nation of Israel was born. It has been two weeks since we gathered in Gallup for our initial First Nations Day of Honor, and we thank all of you who came together and experienced the precious honoring of one another! We especially thank and appreciate the guest speakers who came and shared their hearts with us. The special phrase “From Heart to heart!” deeply impacted all of us, and has lingered in our memory as we move forward into the next phase of our initiative! The First Nations Day of Honor will be the beginning of the fulfillment of the great vision of the USA as “One Nation under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for All”. A holy gathering of native Americans and representatives of immigrants from all the nations to the USA, will take place during the Feast of Shavuot / Pentecost 2023. It will trigger the greatest revival in human history, as envisioned by Billy Graham in 1975, when he spoke in Albuquerque. We pray that during this holy gathering of honoring, the duly elected President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump, will honor the First Nations on behalf of the entire USA, and he will be honored in return!
