Description
Older bassist/guitarist/vocalist. Looking for a 2-3 kindred souls; musician vocalists. Male or female, young or old.
I'm retiring in '23 and lookin' to have more musical fun in retirement.
I presently play in a working Rock party band and continue to enjoy it very much. But, years ago, I also had fun playing "Folk" music; gigging the coffee house & club scene.
And I would love to get back to it. There is a treasure trove of Classic Americana/Folk/acoustic music that no one seems to play any more. My vision is to form a trio or quartet that would perform: Simon & Garfunkel. Everly Bros., Peter Paul & Mary, Joni Mitchell, CSN....many more. And I have a few originals that don't suck (I think). Also maybe some contemporary tunes; Zach Brown, Haitt, Waits...
And it's also huge fun to see how out-of-genre tunes work in a minimalist format, A buddy of mine covered AC/DC in his "acoustic" duo, and the crowd loved it! Who knew? I would love to explore putting Tom Petty, STP, Smashing Pumpkins, Zepplin (!!) (many more) out there in a folksy trio or quartet.
The goal would be tasty 3 & 4 part harmonies and good pickin'. Minimalist PA setup. And: #1 have fun! #2 eventually gig; festivals, Estival, Grass Roots, maybe Golden Link shows...benefit gigs?: I'm a veteran and a VA volunteer and could hook us up with DAV, Veterans Outreach & others.
But #1 idea just to jam and make great music. I have practice space & tons of gear.
Holler back if this sounds like you. As Tom Petty would croon, "The future is wide open".
