You are cordially invited by the Egyptian American Society of Houston to attend our Physician Networking Event on November 10, 2022 at the Junior League of Houston in Houston, TX at 6 pm. Reception and Registration with Hors d’Oeuvres at 6 pm. Dinner will be served at 7 pm. Residents and medical students, please email us at [email protected] for ticket sponsorship to attend this event. The event will feature Dr. Sherif Zaafran, the President of the Texas Medical Board. He will give a talk on the Texas Medical Board, how it works, the licensure process and pathways, how rules are created and implemented, how to become involved, and how to avoid disciplinary action in your practice. We will also have a panel with esteemed physician members regarding the different career paths in medicine. Our panel will include physicians in academic medicine, private practice, and hospital based medicine. You will also have the opportunity to network with your colleagues from the Egyptian American Society all over Texas. Our guest of honor is Dr. Osama Gaber, who is the Chair of the Department of Surgery at Houston Methodist. He is also the founder of Nora’s home, a nonprofit organization which hosts pediatric transplant patients. Our event chair is Dr. Nabil Ahmed, Professor of Pediatrics-Hem-Onc Cell & Gene at Baylor College of Medicine. Our panel speakers are: Dr. Hishaam Ismael is a board-certified general surgeon with subspecialty fellowship training in hepatobiliary surgery. He serves as an Associate Professor of Surgery, Vice Chair of Surgical Education, Director of Surgical Oncology, and the Program Director of the general surgery residency program at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler. Dr. Mary Guirguis is a board certified radiologist with subspecialty fellowship training in abdominal and breast imaging. She works as a breast imaging radiologist at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Sawsan Khan is Assistant Professor, Associate Director of Education and Rotation Site Director in the department of psychiatry at MD Anderson Cancer Center and Vice President of National Arab American Medical Association l(NAAMA) Houston Chapter. Dr. Eslam Elhammady is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist in private practice in Columbus, Texas and is the founder of Texas Women’s Care. Host Committee: Nabil Ahmed, MD Nora H.
