Hours after the deadly attack on our nation's Capitol, and just minutes before then-Vice President Mike Pence began counting electoral votes on January 6th, Republican Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson told a top aide to hand Pence a list of fake electors from Michigan and Wisconsin in order to stop Joe Biden from becoming president and install Trump instead. Fortunately, Pence rejected Ron Johnson’s blatantly illegal scheme. Think about that for a minute. Lots of Senators and House members objected to certifying the election results and that’s bad enough. But Senator Johnson was willing to go a huge step further and push an illegal fake electors scheme to make it happen.
